MI-Voice

MI-Voice is an email list-serv that was started by Kendra Kleber in 2000 as the Michigan Voice. Since then, hundreds of people from across the country have joined the list to exchange information, news, articles, updates and funding announcements related to HIV/AIDS, and prevention, care and treatment issues in Michigan and elsewhere. The goal  is to provide a forum for broad-based discussion and the wild and generous swapping of big (or little) ideas and questions by people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS, including volunteers, professionals, educators, students, and care providers, whether from nonprofit or for-profit organizations or government agencies. We hope to broaden the scope of the discussion and to strengthen the effectiveness of Michigan's response to HIV/AIDS.

Contributions sent to the list are automatically archived. View the available archives by going to the YAHOO GROUPS website, groups.yahoo.com/group/MI-Voice. The important thing here is that messages are kept in the archives, so please keep that in mind as you are writing and remember your manners.

MI-Voice is sort of confidential, in that no one can go to the YAHOO GROUPS website and see the email addresses of those who belong to the list. However, your email address will be visible to list members when you submit a message to the list. Please note that membership to MI-Voice is open, anyone can join. That should make it pretty clear that you really don't know who is "listening."

Participation on MI-Voice does not, should not, and cannot be found to imply a single thing about the HIV or AIDS status, general health condition, or disability status of anyone. Additionally, information about any individual's HIV or AIDS status is confidential under Michigan law and is protected information. Actual and implied disclosure of the health status or HIV/AIDS status of any person without express permission beforehand is illegal in Michigan and will not be tolerated on the list.

To join MI-Voice, or to check out the archived messages, the MI-Voice calendar, the links page or to set up a poll or post a file, go to www.groups.yahoo.com/group/MI-Voice. Or join by sending an email to MI-Voice-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.
